On Sunday, June 1, from 7:30 PM to 12:00 AM, the MUNAV-Naval History Museum of Venice is exceptionally opening its doors to celebrate the major event promoted by the City of Venice: the Festa della Sensa. The initiative is conceived and curated by D’Uva in collaboration with San Giorgio Café – the museum’s bistro on the Island of San Giorgio, managed by the same company – and invites the public to experience an immersive journey inside the most important naval museum in Italy. The Naval History Museum of Venice, owned by the Ministry of Defense and managed by the Italian Navy, is part of the circuit of military museums entrusted to Difesa Servizi. It is spread across five floors, with a total of 42 rooms and 6,000 square meters of exhibition space, recounting the glorious history of the Serenissima Republic, Venetian seafaring, and the Italian Navy. The experience also includes a visit to the evocative Ships Pavilion, set up in the ancient oar-makers’ workshop, and the exploration of the Enrico Dandolo Submarine, moored at the Arsenale. During the evening, visitors can enjoy drinks prepared by professional bartenders and get swept up in the live DJ set by Tommy Vee and Michele Menini, in an exclusive and fascinating setting. For this first edition of the Festa della Sensa at MUNAV, San Giorgio Café is presenting a selection of special cocktails created for the occasion, including the “Bucintoro Cocktail” a symbol of the Naval Museum and the Festa della Sensa, the “Venetian Paloma,” and the “Sensa: La Ginetta.” A varied offering in line with the Café’s philosophy which, in an indissoluble link with the concept of Venetian identity, promotes the territory through a careful research and selection of traditional products, expressing the cultural identity of Venice with a touch of innovation. The Festa della Sensa at MUNAV aims to be an invitation to relive the memory of the Serenissima in the wonderful spaces of a museum that is once again a protagonist of the city, ready to become an integral part of a tradition that looks to the future.
